Natural Bio Filler
What if the best filler for your face was already inside you?
That’s the idea behind PRF — platelet-rich fibrin. It’s your own blood, drawn and processed right here at Illume, concentrated into a natural bio-filler that your body recognizes as its own. No synthetic hyaluronic acid. No foreign material. Just your growth factors, your fibrin matrix, and your body’s own regenerative biology — injected wherever you’d normally place dermal filler.
Under the eyes. Cheeks. Temples. Lips. Nasolabial folds. Anywhere filler goes, PRF can go — with a fundamentally different relationship to your tissue.
At Illume Aesthetics — fifteen minutes from Medford — we offer PRF, EZGel PRF, and traditional PRP alongside our full dermal filler portfolio. That means your provider recommends whichever approach is actually right for your face — not whichever one the practice happens to carry.
What PRF Does — And Why It’s Different
PRF isn’t trying to replace Juvéderm or Restylane. Those products are excellent at what they do and we use them every day. PRF offers something they can’t: regeneration from the inside, using materials your body already trusts.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is your blood spun to isolate liquid plasma packed with growth factors. Powerful for surface applications — during PRP microneedling, for tissue regeneration. It’s liquid and absorbs relatively quickly.
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is spun differently — slower speed, no anticoagulant. The result is a fibrin matrix that holds growth factors in a three-dimensional scaffold. Think of it as PRP with its own time-release structure. The fibrin releases growth factors gradually over days to weeks, which means the regenerative signal lasts longer — and PRF has enough body to be injected as a filler.
EZGel PRF takes it one step further. Your PRF is heated to create a smooth, gel-like consistency that handles more like traditional dermal filler. Greater precision during injection, especially for delicate areas like under the eyes.

The Under-Eye Advantage — Why PRF Shines Here
This is the treatment driving most of the interest in PRF — and for good reason.
The under-eye area is one of the most delicate zones in facial aesthetics. Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers work well but carry a specific risk in this area: the Tyndall effect — a bluish tint visible through thin skin when synthetic filler sits too superficially.
PRF eliminates that risk entirely. It’s your own biological material. No blue-gray discoloration possible.
But it does more than avoid a risk. PRF under the eyes:
- Stimulates collagen production — the dark circles, hollow quality, and crepey texture all improve, not just the volume
- Integrates naturally — your body doesn’t treat PRF as foreign. No encapsulation. No inflammatory response beyond normal healing.
- Builds gradually — results develop over weeks as collagen forms. The improvement looks like your under-eyes just got healthier. Not filled. Not puffed. Just better.
Two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Each session builds on the collagen response from the last.
PRF vs Dermal Fillers — We Offer Both, Recommend Honestly
This is Illume’s real differentiator. Most practices in the Medford area offer either PRF or traditional fillers. We offer both — and your provider recommends based on what your face actually needs, not what’s available.
Choose PRF when:
- You want a natural, non-synthetic approach
- Under-eye rejuvenation is the primary goal
- You prefer gradual, natural-looking improvement
- You’ve had reactions to synthetic fillers
Choose dermal fillers when:
- You want immediate, visible volume
- Precise contouring is the goal — jawline, cheekbones, lips
- You need predictable results from a single session
Use both when:
- Under-eye PRF combined with cheek or jawline filler — the right tool in each zone
- PRF for tissue quality alongside filler for structural definition
Your consultation covers which approach — or combination — makes sense for your anatomy and goals.
What Treatment Looks Like
Blood draw. A small amount from your arm — same as any lab work.
Processing. Centrifuged on-site at Illume. Standard PRF: slower spin, no anticoagulant, fibrin matrix preserved. EZGel: additional heating step creates a smooth gel. Takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Injection. Topical numbing applied. PRF or EZGel injected using precise technique — needle or cannula depending on the area. 20 to 30 minutes depending on treatment zones.
Recovery. Resume normal activities the same day. Mild swelling for one to three days. Bruising possible, especially around the eyes. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Results timeline. Initial improvement at one to two weeks as swelling resolves. Progressive collagen building over two to three months. Peak results at approximately three months after your final session. Results last twelve to eighteen months.
Sessions. Two to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.
Why Medford Patients Choose Illume for PRF
Both PRF AND traditional fillers. Your provider isn’t limited to one approach. They assess your face and recommend PRF, EZGel, hyaluronic acid filler, Sculptra, or a strategic combination — whatever produces the best result. No bias. No inventory limitation. Just honest guidance.
EZGel available. Not every practice offering PRF has upgraded to EZGel. The gel consistency makes under-eye and fine-line treatment significantly more precise — and that precision matters in the most delicate areas of your face.
The same team for everything. Your PRF provider is the same team performing your dermal fillers, your facial balancing, your microneedling. One record. One relationship. One cohesive plan.
Hundreds of five-star reviews. The team Medford trusts for injectables and laser treatments is the same team processing and injecting your PRF.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Illume from Medford?
About 15 minutes via I-5 South. Exit 19, one mile to Siskiyou Blvd. Free parking directly in front.
What is PRF and how is it different from PRP?
PRP is liquid plasma with concentrated growth factors — best for surface applications like microneedling. PRF includes a fibrin matrix that holds growth factors in a three-dimensional scaffold, releasing them gradually over days to weeks. PRF has more body and can be injected as a bio-filler. PRP is the liquid boost. PRF is the injectable regenerator.
Is PRF safe for under the eyes?
Yes — and it’s one of the safest options for this area specifically. Because PRF is your own biological material, there’s no risk of Tyndall effect (blue discoloration) that synthetic HA fillers can cause in thin under-eye skin. Allergic reactions are essentially impossible.
How many PRF sessions do I need?
Two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Each builds on the collagen response from the previous session. Peak results at approximately three months after the final treatment. Annual maintenance sustains benefits.
Can PRF replace dermal fillers?
For some patients and areas — particularly under the eyes. PRF provides subtler volume than HA fillers, requires multiple sessions, and results are more gradual. For immediate dramatic volume or precise structural contouring, traditional fillers are the stronger tool. At Illume we offer both and recommend honestly based on your goals.
How long do PRF results last?
Twelve to eighteen months. The collagen your body builds is real tissue — it doesn’t dissolve on a schedule the way HA filler does. Annual maintenance sessions sustain and build on previous results.
